2019 was a huge year for Toyi. For us; it was all about our beloved community and your support that you don’t hesitate to share with us every day without getting bored. Now, as we come to the end of the year, we want to celebrate all the developments together. TOYİ IS ON KICKSTARTER!

Last year, 333 people backed our crowdfunding campaign that we started on Kickstarter, and Toyi met its play friends globally.

TOYI IS ON MoMA NOW!

After our Kickstarter campaign, we went to the Spielwarenmesse Toy Fair in Nünberg, Germany, to expand our global reach and we met new play friends in Netherlands and Taiwan. In November, we were selected for the best toys for children category of Museum of Modern Arts Design Store. MoMA Design Store offers curator-approved products that bring quality, creativity, and design innovation to everyday living. Every purchase supports groundbreaking exhibitions at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), a wide range of education programs, and the preservation of the Museum’s collection. Toyi is available at MoMA Design Store Midtown and Soho.

WE REACHED 25,000 CHILDREN <3

One of the things that excited us in 2019 was that we reached more children. This year, we developed projects with the partnerships of 12 civil society organizations working for children’s rights. With the projects and sales, we have reached 25,000 children. This means that we have turned trash into 25,000 toys, helped children approach the objects around them from a different perspective, and allowed children to have free playtime to support their creativity.

WE SUPPORTED CHILD’S RIGHT TO PLAY WITH PLAY ADVOCATES <3

We believe that everyone has something that they can do to support the children’s right to play, and we invite everyone who has found ways to promote children’s right to play, to be a Play Advocate.  To this end, we created a community program and launched the Play Days event series, which is designed to bring together Play Advocates and create an environment in which everyone can contribute to the solution of current issues about play through their own unique advocacy methods. We met more than 200 Play Advocates in two community events this year. With our Play Advocates Community Program, we enabled advocates to create their own messages.  (You can find detailed information about Play Advocates on our community page.)

AWESOME PEOPLE SUPPORTED US <3

Since launching our crowdfunding campaign, hundreds of people have supported our efforts to create an alternative to support children’s creativity in the toy industry. Tens of journalists have spread our messages, and thanks to the thousands of people who supported us, we talked about Toyi’s impact in more than 20 events. When we approached the end of the year, we received very joyful news: We selected one of the most important social entrepreneurship awards in Turkey.

We would like to thank all of our Play Friends and Play Advocates in this post that we are looking at 2019. Hopefully, 2020 will be a year where we play more, meet more Play Friends, and discover new ways to support children’s right to play with more Play Advocates <3
